Did you feel that?
I have allergies right now so before I went to bed last night I took some prescription allergy meds and they usually knock me out.
So I was surprised to wake up at 4:30am, because usually I am out until I hear the alarm at 7am.
What did I wake up to?
Well at first I thought it was Hannah shaking me away and I was thisclose to telling her to knock it off!
Then I raised my head and saw there was no Hannah in my room and the whole room was shaking as well. It went on for about 5-10 seconds. When it was over I thought it was a dream.
Remember, strong allergy meds and me being out of it.
I get back to sleep and the phone starts ringing about 6am.
I look at the caller ID and it was Tom.
WTH? Why was he calling this early.
Me: Hello?
Tom: Hey is everything OK?
Me: Yeaaaaah why?
Tom: I heard there was an earthquake in IL
Me: NO friggin way that was real?
Tom: (laughing) Yes babe, it was real did you feel it?
Me: YES I did!!! I thought I was just a dream, I am on the big daddy allergy meds and I am out of it.
Tom: No, you didn't dream it hon! (still laughing at my slightly incoherent words)
Me: That was at like 4:30 right?
Tom: YES it was so you really did feel it huh?
Me: Yes I did!! That was weird!!!
Tom: When you wake up a little more, check the house out and make sure everything is OK
Me: Gotcha.
Tom: love you, talk to you later.
Our home is fine, just a few things knocked off the shelves. Nothing broken.
My kids?
Slept through the entire thing LOL They didn't believe me when I told them!
Then around 10am, an aftershock came. Lasted about 3 seconds.
I just talked to the kids and they felt it at school.
Tonight, we will take about what to do in an earthquake.
Just in case ;-)
