Been busy stimulating!
Now by the title of that post you are probably thinking it has something to do with Tom coming home and a little p0rn music right?
Well, that isn't the stimulating I am referring to!
We are doing what our President wants us to do with that nice loan from China stimulus check!
Last week our 12 year old stove quit working.
We could do one of two things...1) we could call the repair person and have it fixed or 2) we could go and buy one!
Since we are not "in love" with that stove to begin with we bought a new one!
We didn't go to any Big Box place to buy it because Tom is very adamant about buying from the local independent places. Even if we end up paying a little more for it, they make up for it in customer service! That is worth the price right there! In case any of you are local and reading this we purchased ours from Vaughn's Appliance on North Grand!
While shopping for our stove we were trying to figure out which features we really wanted. The sales woman (SW) asked:
SW: So do you do a lot of cooking?
ME: Well we have 3 kids so, yeah we need to cook!
SW: Do you cook for fun?
ME: You mean people COOK for FUN?
SW: Yes some people are picky about what they want their stove to do!
ME: Well, we need to eat, so we need to cook...that is about the extent of it!
The other must have feature was it needed to be self-cleaning. What an awesome concept that is! They should make kids, refrigerators, toilets and houses self-cleaning. Seriously.
The other project we have taken upon is finishing another section in our basement.
The section I am referring to currently houses Toms "office" and r/c car museum. This "office" is where the "magic happens" as far as any building of any r/c product goes. In order to facilitate this endeavor, WE had to get rid of a lot of crap. When I mean WE I really mean Tom because all of it is his crap. Which I can tell you, is realllllllly stressing him out!
I was trying to help him and every time I asked "Can you part with this" I got a fast "No" followed by a touching memory of what race he won with that car. {Insert eye roll here}. This is where the "museum" part of his office comes into play and why he is currently in a storage crisis! This was HIS idea, not mine so really, he brought this upon himself!
We donated a lot of stuff to Goodwill, took a load to the dump, and some of it we set out on the boulevard for people to take! YES we really did that and you know what, the stuff was gone in less than on hour!
Wish us luck with this project because neither of us have EVER actually built walls, or drywalled, or anything like that. GO US!
