I had good intentions!

I really did.

But with my new job I have to get up at...

5:45am

Yes, you read that right.

It is all worth it though...because I am home by 3:45pm.

No more late night dinners, no more missing school functions, no more drama, no more bull-shit....just no more.

I am now an employee of Memorial Medical Center as a material specialist. Sounds FANCY huh? Not really, I just help maintain inventories in the receiving and stores area of the hospital. There really is a lot more to my job, but unless you actually work in my department it will just come out like this "Blah blah blah blah blah" LOL. It is a desk job and I wear "business casual" clothes and when I leave for work in the AM Tom kisses me goodbye and tells me I look "hot" :). My co-workers are mostly men and I am officially putting Tom's theory to test.

Amen to that my man.....amen to that!

Fun weekend on deck...since the rain has decided to hold out, I have a photo shoot tomorrow. I have a wedding to finish editing (Hi Ritamarie!!!) and another family shoot to edit on deck after that. SO HOPEFULLY I will have some beautiful stuff to share!

Because this week was new to all of us, and I have  been falling asleep @ 9pm I didn't officially wish my baby Happy 9th Birthday on my blog.

On October 20, 1999 @ 11:55am I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl in the world. It is hard to believe that my baby is NINE!

 We had a party for her and Tom and I got her what she really wanted ...

   
Girlfriend is jamming QUIETLY to Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana and all her favorite songs from Disney!

We are now a FIVE ipod family...it feels nuts just to type it out!

OK lots to accomplish...ready, set.....GO!

I don't even know where to begin.

The events of the last few weeks has taken its toll on our little family, but we are starting to come out of it. I wish I could say we were coming out of it "better than ever" but in reality you cannot recover from the death of a loved one and be "better than ever".

We knew that some day this would happen, but we were not thinking it would be right now. No one wants to believe that is is going to happen right now. Like most people who have lost someone close, Tom has been wishing he would have spent more time with his Dad. Sharon (Tom's step-mother) is doing as well as anyone could be considering she lost her husband.

Simply put, we are all doing the best we can.

I will summarize the past 3 weeks by saying there were bad times and even worse times with the only bright spot in all of this is that I have a new job that I start Monday. I am thrilled! There is a whole lot of drama that has transpired that made me come to this decision...but I will leave it where it needs to be and move on. Nothing good can come from rehashing it all on my blog.

I do want to publicly thank my Mom and my sister for listening, checking in on us and driving up for the visitation. Also top on the list is Jenn and Linda who always listen when I need an ear....no matter how incoherent or nuts it may be. I also want to call out AJ and WK who took time out of their night to attend the visitation and keeping my kids entertained and to Reza who made the trip all the way from Joliet. Thank you :) Seeing you guys there was a huge comfort. Also, thank you very much for your continued support.

OK, hopefully things here at {just another blog} can get back to business as usual.

Thank you to everyone who said prayers or sent good thoughts our way. They were felt and appreciated. The next few days are going to be very difficult for our family.

Tom's Dad took an extreme turn for the worse yesterday morning. Tom, Sharon and I were there with him all night and all day today. I came home to get the kids off to school this AM went back and home again after they go to bed and I will return. Dad is still with us, but you can tell his body is very tired. 

Yesterday, I had to tell our children that their GaGa wasn't going to be with us any longer. They want him to stay but they, like us, don't want him to be in pain any longer.

Watching someone during their final moments of their journey is the most difficult and the most beautiful thing to witness.

Please pray he has peace and that he realizes his work here is done.

Please pray for Tom and Sharon, that they too find the peace they are needing.
